Corners - 3D Art Dioramas

New Additions:
One more step and Jess knew the man would begin to sizzle and pop.
Only the children could walk on the sacred hopscotch path.
`And I tell you this room is haunted!'
`Eeurgh, I have trod in something !'
`Smells like fox`s ....'

`You could feed a small town!'
`But I can't cook!' replied the chicken

Mr Hush was the widower at No 52.
His wife had died over a year ago and
he was now eligible to be `netted' by the ladies.

`Stop staring at his breasts!' Jill told herself, but she found them so erotic .....

`I got a letter today!'

One man went to mow

`And the rainbow definitely touched this spot?
The end of the rainbow was here?'
`Oh yes, I think so ....'

`And you won't mind if I'm Frank?'
`Good God!  But that's equally absurd!'
`Maybe' replied George `But maybe if the world was
planned a bit better there wouldn't be so many Livias.'

Justin hoped no-one would notice that his Readers' Wives' photo
was done in his shed and Rose was laying on the dog's bed.

`Of course I miss you, but I'm treasurer of the
bowls' club now so I'm not ready to join you  in heaven.'

As he ran he wondered how to retrieve his clothes
that now lay under her husband's side of the bed.

Mum's Birthday

Maybe a card and a present in one?

Party in the Garden

The sun is out; the sky contains metres upon metres of blue silk and it's time to party!!  No calories, no taste, but with a dash of imagination .......Water for Elephants

The Kitchen

Hello!  Sorry for the delay and I have no excuses, so please imagine my head hung in shame.  I have 3, yes 3, new dioramas to add and the first one is The Kitchen:

Look at the fantastic 70's wallpaper!  The tiles are glass and hand picked by yours truly.  The salad and filled croissant are guaranteed to stay as fresh as polymer clay can stay fresh!

Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think!

The Cafe

Hmm, well the vision in my head was slightly different, but that isn't unusual.  I wanted to put a window around the front of the box so you could look inside, however, as you can see it didn't happen; I left it open and extended the floor instead.

Sew 4 Me

Hello!  Apologies for the delay etc, but I have two dioramas to add today!!

This one has taken me a few days as I decided to add some glass tiles for the window so that  involved cutting the base of the box, but the result is good.  The treadle, sewing box (that is perched on the shelf )and the tailor's dummy all hail from ebay's doll's house accessories; the bales of material and odd bits of wool were donated by Sandie and anything else you can see was from my treasury of possibly useful acquisitions!  Some cigar boxes have a sheet of veneer inside them and that is really good for making floors.  Will be adding this one to Etsy later to join the others.

The Queen's Weekend Pad

Saturday pulled us out of the house and we trundled  towards Alexander Gardens.  The weather was brilliant with a large amount of sunshine and a cool breeze welcoming us to the outside world. Decided to take a couple of photos for backdrops and thought it would be rude not to include HRH's weekend pad considering she was in residence, possibly watching the Saturday afternoon film or just ironing a few bits to take back to London with her, who knows?

So, out of that came this, enjoy .......

A Walk in the Park

The weekend found me sitting at the dining table that appears to have been attacked from all sides by various art and craft bits playing with model railway figures; I know, but it kept me quiet for a while.  Monday saw the sun and a blue sky so the dogs and I went down to the river with camera tucked into pocket.  Came back and put this together:

It isn't one of my best efforts but it isn't bad.  Looks better without the leather chair in the background of course.  Trace suggested an ice cream van but decided to `make do and mend' as my old Aunt Deborah Windlesham-Bottom used to say and added a memorial to fallen chess pieces instead.  One thing I keep promising myself is to decorate the outside of the box first, but it hasn't happened yet ......

Down the Shed - Day 2

Well, post lady arrived with the garden tools and a pair of boots so have been able to add some finishing touches.  I also decided that I didn't like the drawer and cupboard fronts so I made new from balsa.  Added a hanging basket and bracket, plus a coil of wire:

Just waiting for the pva glue to dry and then I can decorate the outside of the box.  Enjoy and will write soon!!!

Down the Shed

Ok, today's offering is still in the construction stage but I thought I might just put it on display anyway; so here it is:

Bit disappointed as my miniature garden tools etc, didn't arrive today so I had to improvise.
There are a few odds and ends in the drawer and on the top of the cabinet is a slice of pizza and a mug with a teabag waiting for hot water.

Altered Cigar Boxes - Day Two

Well as far as I'm concerned `Sunday At Home' is nearing the finishing line and so I thought I would post the pictures for you to see:

I made the space under the `table' into two small secret compartments!

The books and shelf are made of remnants of art board and cardstock.
Still some finishing to do.

Altered Cigar Boxes

What did we do before the internet?  A while ago I browsed the web for images of altered art and saw a few examples of cigar boxes becoming more than just a conveyance for tobacco.  With these ideas in mind I gave it a go and created something different for Alb's birthday:

I was really happy with the result considering it was only a cigar box, some offcuts of art board and cardstock, together with a few downloaded images, oh and the essential pva glue; not only does it stick it `varnishes' too!!!

Now working on the next one that I am calling `Sunday at Home'.
